Red Rattler Premium Carolina Rig
This is no ordinary, run-of-the-mill, Carolina rig. It is made from premium components that greatly enhance its effectiveness. These include:
- A lead free Tungsten bullet weight, for a smaller size and louder rattle
- Fire polished, jewelry quality, red AB (aurora borealis) finish, glass beads for maximum sparkle
- Glass tube beads to provide more even more rattle
- High quality, multi-strand, 26 pound test nylon coated stainless steel wire
- Ball bearing swivels at either end.
I’ve tried these rigs out on our local lakes, ranging from small ponds to Lake Lanier, and this design really gets the attention of the fish. You toss this rig with a plastic worm, craw or lizard on a 1 to 3 foot leader and drag it across or along humps, drop-offs and ridges. You are sure to see plenty of action as the bass home in on the enticing noise and and flash. An added bonus is that the smaller size due to the tungsten weight gives you a better feel for the bottom and allows you to more easily negotiate potential snags.
The Red Rattler Premium Carolina Rig is available in 5 sizes, 1/8 ounce, 1/4 ounce, 3/8 ounce, 1/2 ounce and 3/4 ounce. The smaller sizes are great for finesse situations where you want to have a light touch on your presentation while the larger sizes are better for scouting out an area.
For a limited time and while supplies last, we’re also including our Carolina Rig Starter kit which includes a pair of salt impregnated lizards with matching hooks. We’re also throwing in 5 feet of P-Line Spectrex IV 30lb test moss green braided line and 5 feet of Seaguar CarbonPro 20lb test fluorocarbon to use as a leader with this rig. I’ve found the braided line works good in stained or muddy water where there is a lot of debris and vegetation where snags can be a problem while the fluorocarbon works good in clear water finesse presentations. Try them both out and see which fits your fishing situation and style the best.
